1 in stock (can be backordered)

Deutsch DT 12-way plug pigtail kit — properly built and ready to drop straight into your harness.

This is a 12-way DT plug (DT06-12SA-C015, socket contacts) pre-terminated with 12 × 300mm tails of UK-made AMC thin-wall automotive cable — crimped with correct tooling, DC4 sealed, wedge-locked and tested. Mates directly to any standard DT 12-way receptacle on a vehicle, machine or harness.

Built in the North East of England. Not a generic import. Not a bag of bits.

Who it’s for

  • Van converters and campervan builders adding a detachable joint to a 12-core circuit
  • Auto electricians repairing or extending OEM harnesses without re-pinning the whole loom
  • Plant and agricultural technicians who need a reliable field repair — now
  • 4×4 and overland builders fitting accessories properly, once

What’s in the box

Connector TE Connectivity Deutsch DT06-12SA-C015 — 12-way plug, A-key, socket contacts, E-seal, wedge-lock
Cable 12 × 300mm AMC thin-wall automotive cable, 2.0mm² (approx. 14 AWG), grey, ISO 6722-1:2011 Class B, 105°C
Splice hardware 12 × solder-butt crimp terminals and adhesive-lined heat shrink for inline splicing
Identification Heat shrink cavity ID markers — Deutsch cavity numbers, not random colours
Documentation Printed assembly instructions + Bill of Materials listing every component by part number
Sealing DC4 dielectric compound applied to all cavities and rear seals during assembly
Keying A-key — your existing receptacle must also be A-keyed to mate
Part number 430019-000

Electrical ratings

Contact rating Up to 13A continuous per contact (DT series, size-16, subject to ambient temperature and duty cycle)
System voltage 12V and 24V DC nominal; maximum ~60V DC
Cable size 2.0mm² (approx. 14 AWG) — upper end of size-16 contact range, providing thermal and volt-drop margin
Temperature rating 105°C (ISO 6722-1:2011 Class B) — suitable for under-bonnet and chassis-exposed locations
Tail length 300mm per core — enough to route, splice and terminate without a bulky loop

Why the C015 housing matters

The DT06 series comes in two seal profiles. The standard arrangement is designed for older, thicker cable insulation. Modern thin-wall automotive cable has a smaller OD — use the wrong seal and it won’t grip the insulation, the connector leaks, and the claimed IP rating is worthless. The C015 suffix designates E-seal compatibility, dimensioned for thin-wall cable so you get a real, durable IP-rated seal — not just a housing that looks the part.

DC4 — why the connector arrives greasy

Every cavity is filled with a measured application of DC4 dielectric compound during assembly. Do not wipe it off. It is part of the environmental sealing system. Simply mate the plug and receptacle fully until the latch clicks — any excess displaces harmlessly.

Fretting corrosion in low-current circuits under vibration is a genuine failure mode. DC4 fills the gaps around contacts and seals, displacing the moisture and oxygen that would otherwise cause trouble over time.

Assembly process

All contacts are crimped using genuine Deutsch-pattern tooling and checked for correct insulation support and pull-out resistance. Contacts are inserted to positive lock, wedge-locks fitted, and every assembly receives a tug-test and visual check before packaging.

What this kit is for — and what it isn’t

Important — keying: This kit uses A-key housings. DT 12-way connectors are only available in A-key, so any genuine DT 12-way connector will be compatible. If you are unsure, contact us before you cut.

Ideal for:

  • Adding a detachable joint to a 12-core circuit — complex ECU looms, multi-sensor harnesses, off-highway equipment
  • Plant and agricultural equipment harness repair or extension at the high-way-count end
  • Repairing a damaged factory DT 12-way plug with an OEM-style outcome

Not suitable for:

  • Vehicle-specific OEM replacement — check your connector before you cut
  • High-energy circuits — stay within 13A per contact

Installation notes

The 300mm tails give you enough length to splice into an existing loom, route to a junction box or land on a terminal strip. Stagger the splice joints along the harness rather than landing them all at the same point — keeps the loom diameter consistent and makes routing in tight runs much easier.

The connector and rear seals will look greasy when you unpack — this is correct. Do not wipe the DC4 off. Mate the connector fully until the latch clicks.

Not sure about plug vs receptacle, pin vs socket, or how keying works? Read our guides including how the Deutsch DT connector system works.

Not sure if this is the right kit? Ask before you cut.

We’ve designed and fault-found wiring on cars, vans, trucks, buses, plant and off-highway kit. If you’re not certain this connector is the right match for your application, drop us a message or call the landline. We’d rather talk it through first than see a rushed repair on someone’s machine.

We also build custom harness sections and connector kits to order — different way counts, cable sizes, lengths and labelling can usually be accommodated. Get in touch.

These assemblies are intended for installation by competent persons with working knowledge of 12/24V vehicle and machinery electrical systems. Always isolate the supply and confirm circuits are dead before cutting. Test for continuity, insulation resistance and correct polarity before re-energising. Designed for low-voltage (≤60V DC) control and auxiliary circuits on automotive, plant, marine and similar equipment. Not suitable for mains-voltage wiring, high-energy battery links, starter-motor main feeds or safety-critical circuits requiring specific OEM approval.
